1. The 100% Client-Side Computation Guarantee
Zero Financial Data Leaves Your Device
Every calculator on npvcalc.com (including initial investments, discount rates, periodic cash flows, lease terms, and pension numbers) executes 100% within your local web browser's JavaScript runtime.
Unlike cloud-based enterprise platforms that process your inputs on remote API servers:
- We do NOT transmit your cash flow numbers over the network.
- We do NOT save, record, or database your financial inputs.
- We do NOT track, profile, or sell your business valuations, salary figures, or investment models to advertisers, brokers, or data aggregators.
- If you disconnect your internet connection after loading any calculator on npvcalc.com, the calculation engine, charts, and schedules will continue to work perfectly offline.
2. Information We Never Collect
We strictly avoid collecting any personally identifiable financial information (PIFI):
- No banking credentials, account numbers, or credit card details.
- No project names, company revenue forecasts, or proprietary corporate data.
- No user registration forms, passwords, or personal email requirements to access calculation tools.
3. Technical Logs & Anonymous Analytics
Like virtually all standard web hosting providers, our hosting infrastructure (such as Cloudflare / Netlify CDN edges) receives standard technical HTTP metadata strictly necessary to securely deliver web pages:
- Browser & Device Type: User-agent header to optimize mobile/desktop layouts.
- IP Address & Request Timestamp: Processed temporarily at the CDN network edge for DDoS mitigation and web application firewall (WAF) security.
- Aggregated Pageview Metrics: High-level anonymous metrics (e.g. total page views per day) without individual user tracking or cross-site fingerprinting.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
NPVCalc does not use invasive advertising tracking cookies. We may use standard browser localStorage solely to remember your preferred currency choice (e.g. INR ₹ vs USD $) locally on your device for convenience across sessions. This data is never sent to our servers.
5. Compliance: DPDP Act (India), GDPR (EU) & CCPA (USA)
Because we do not store, profile, or monetize personal financial data, our architecture is privacy-by-design compliant with major international and national privacy frameworks:
- Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act, India): All financial calculations occur locally on your hardware. We do not act as a data fiduciary for your business cash flows because your input figures are never uploaded or retained in any electronic database.
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU): We collect zero personal data from financial models. Server-edge delivery logs are retained strictly for security and infrastructure stability under legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA): We do not sell or share personal financial data or consumer projections under any circumstances.
